+ Why wax?

Waxing removes the hair from the follicle by the root. With regular waxing, hair becomes finer, softer, and will grow back slower and more sparse. Shaving simply cuts the hair at the skin’s surface never affecting the structure of the hair itself.

+ How long is long enough for my hair to get waxed? (I can’t wait any longer!)

Everyone’s hair grows at different rates. With that being said , We say, let the hair grow to about ¼ inch so the wax can grab the hair. Preferably ½ inch. The length of a grain of rice. It should be at least 2 weeks after shaving but keep in mind longer is always better.

+ How old do you have to be to get waxed?

Well, it really depends on the guest. We’ll wax a guest of any age if our wax specialists feel they are prepared for the experience. If our guest is overly apprehensive, we believe it’s best to wait until another time. Any guest under age 18 will need to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

+ Can I wax during that time of the month?

Sure, we can absolutely wax you if it’s that time of the month, you will need to have a tampon inserted in order to perform the wax. But … just be aware that the area is more sensitive and you may experience more discomfort than usual.

+ What’s the difference between a bikini line and Brazilian wax?

Bikini line is a basic tidy; we wax the sides (called your panty line) and across the top. If you’re wearing a bikini, this will prevent any hairs from “peeking out”.

Brazilian goes from the front, all the way to the back with an added butt strip. This is perfect for a completely nude look or you can leave a neat triangle or landing strip on the front.

+ How long does it take to get a full Brazilian wax?

Usually it takes about 15-30 minutes. It also depends on the amount of hair and if you're a first-time guest, of course, but it is generally a pretty fast process. Before you know it, it's all done!

+ How long will my wax last?

Usually your wax will last between 3–4 weeks but everyone’s rate of regrowth is different so results will vary between guests. But remember, with the right products, you can help your body stay smoother, for longer. Just ask your wax specialist to point you in the right direction.

+ I'm a little nervous . . . does waxing hurt?

It depends on your tolerance for discomfort. Try to keep in mind that you are removing the hair from the root, but our fabulous wax specialists will make sure you are as comfortable as possible.

+ I'm pregnant! Can I still wax?

You can still wax. However, you may experience more skin sensitivity due to the hormonal changes your body is going through. Our wax specialists will make you as comfortable as possible during the service. We recommend checking with your doctor during the last two months of pregnancy.

+ Will my hair grow back differently?

The only change you should see is positive -finer, thinner, softer and more sparse. Waxing will not make your hair (on the face or body) grow back thicker or darker! That’s a myth!!

+ Can I still wax if I'm on medication?

It’s always best to refer to your doctor if you have any questions. For prescribed creams such as Retin-A or Differin, we advise that you stop use 7 days prior to your wax reservation and do not resume use until 7 days after your wax service. We will not wax you if you are on Accutane. It’s very dangerous to wax while on Accutane and a doctor’s note will be needed to receive services. Remember, it’s important that you inform us on what medications you may be taking so we can ultimately provide you with a safe waxing experience.

+ Can I still wax if I tanned the day before?

We recommend waiting at least 24–48 hours between waxing and tanning because your skin may be more sensitive. Because waxing exfoliates the skin by removing the top layer of dead surface skin cells, you’re more likely to experience sunburn. If you are going to go in the sun within 48 hours of waxing, we recommend wearing a sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or more.

+ Can I still wax if I've just had a facial?

You can still wax if you received a basic facial that includes a cleanse, steam, exfoliation and mask. If you received a specialty facial that includes, but is not limited to, an alpha (AHA) or beta (BHA) hydroxy peel, microdermabrasion or any other deep exfoliation treatment, then you need to wait at least 7 days to receive a wax service. You should check with your doctor to ensure it’s ok for you to wax after having any medical-grade facial treatment.
